De acuerdo con los datos aportados por la peticionaria en la misiva, Luigi Zorzut estaba enrolado en la Cruz Roja y tenía el grado de soldado de primera (caporale maggiore), aunque no debía ser combatiente porque fue apresado en Serbia en Diciembre de 1914 y, para entonces, Italia todavía no había entrado en la Guerra.
